Next month is La Jolla high school’s annual prom. On May 20, prom will be hosted for all seniors at the Conrad Performing Arts Center. Prom is only for the seniors unless an underclassman is going with an upperclassman. Prom is the final school dance for seniors so it is normally a big deal. From the long dresses to suits, going in groups or as a couple, and showing up in a limo is what prom is usually seen as. Seniors look forward to this final time they get to be with all of their friends and celebrate. TA Ms. Brooks states, “As of now there is no theme for Prom but there will be outside guests allowed in. There are also no stilettos allowed due to the dance being outside. It’s also been said that there are many couples going this year instead of big groups so it’s going to be a fun prom for the seniors.” Past dances this year such as homecoming or winter formal, did not allow outside guests but for prom there is.

Senior prom is a dance that most seniors look forward to. Even underclassmen look up to when they get to have their senior year prom. Hopefully this year’s prom will be a great event for our seniors of La Jolla High School.
