Julia Olfe
Julia Olfe is a freshman and a first year staff writer for the Hi-Tide. She joined Journalism because she has always enjoyed writing, and is interested to see what it is like to write for a newspaper. She looks forward to the freedom that journalistic writing provides compared to her English classes, and being able to choose what to write about.

Outside of school, her most significant writing is the blog that she wrote for almost an entire year when she was in fourth grade. That year was spent in Indonesia, quite the experience for nine-year-old Olfe and her faithful blog-reading relatives back in the United States.

Since then, Olfe has written only for school and her family’s Christmas and birthday presents. She hopes to write more this year, as well as expand her vocabulary and develop her prose.
