Emerson Smith is a junior at La Jolla High School . This is her first year experiencing journalism as a reporter. She hopes to improve upon her writing and interviewing skills while a staff member for the Hi-Tide. She does not have any prior experience in journalism. Some interests of hers include drawing, reading, hiking, swimming, hanging out on the beach, as well as socializing with her friends and family. This year, she is thrilled to be included and aspires to learn how to report a well constructed text and improve upon her interview skills.
