On Friday, April 17, American actor Dylan Sprouse and his wife, model and actress Barbara Sprouse, had an alleged trespasser in their home. According to reports, Barbara called 911, saying there was a “creepy guy” on their property in Hollywood at 12:30 am. Dylan then proceeded to tackle and restrain the trespasser by holding them at gunpoint until the police arrived.
While Dylan was in New York for the world premiere of The Devil Wears Prada 2, he was interviewed on the red carpet about the scary incident. Dylan and his wife stated, “Thankfully, no one was hurt, and there was no more violence than what happened. So, it’s all okay.” Over the weekend, reports claimed that the trespasser was arrested at the incident. The trespasser did not enter their home and was only on their property. Even though the situation was handled quickly and effectively, the couple was still a little shaken by what happened.
In situations like this, law enforcement often emphasizes the importance of reporting suspicious activity immediately, which Barbara did by calling 911. Quick responses can prevent incidents from escalating further, especially when it comes to private property and potential safety risks. Incidents involving celebrities also tend to attract public attention quickly, which can sometimes amplify the seriousness of the situation in media coverage.
Sophomore Domino Ashby stated, “I’m glad no one got hurt, and no one should have to deal with that.” Fans across the internet are overall grateful that the couple is safe and nothing too bad happened. Many people online have also pointed out how common it is for public figures to deal with invasions of privacy, sparking conversations about safety, boundaries, and the pressures that come with being in the spotlight.
