The Annual Actor Awards Recognize Brilliant Performers From Our Favorite Movies and Shows
The 32nd Annual Actor Awards happened March 1, at 5 P.M PST. This event took place at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles and was streamed on Netflix, lasting around 2 hours. The Awards were hosted by Kristen Bell, an American actress and Emmy nominee. 15 competitive awards were presented, 6 for film and 9 for television. The major film award winners went to the actors of Sinners for Outstanding Performance by Cast in a Motion Picture, as well as the Outstanding Performance by a Male Lead Actor award to Michael B. Jordan. The major television awards were presented to the drama series The Pitt and the comedy series The Studio. The highly honored Life Achievement Award was given out to the now 83-year-old Harrison Ford for his dedicated 60 years in the industry.
The Awards posthumously honored the late Catherine O’Hara, who died earlier this year on January 30, with the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series award from The Studio, which was emotionally accepted by her co-star Seth Rogen. When asked about how she felt about Catherine O’Hara’s Posthumous award, Nora Weisz, the theatre teacher from La Jolla, said, “Catherine O’Hara is known for having a heart of gold. I think that’s a really nice way to honor her life and her legacy by giving her this award. A lot of the public, as well as Hollywood, was shocked by her passing.” As Weisz said, Catherine O’Hara’s passing shocked many of her fans as she was acting just last year for a successful comedy series. Even a year before her death, she continued acting. Truly an actor worth admiring and deserving of the Posthumous award from the Actor Awards.
