The $10.2 million La Plaza in the La Jolla Village was recently sold. La Plaza is a multi-tenant retail property that is located on Gerard Avenue, right in the heart of the village. The property was purchased by a private family that chose to keep their names confidential, but Michael Peterson, Reg Kobzi, and Jimmy Slusher represented them. This property has been a known part of La Jolla for many years, both to locals and visitors.
The La Plaza was initially built in 1986 but underwent renovation in 2015 by Davlyn Investments. Davlyn Investments’ renovations were a significant factor in the sale of this La Plaza; they completed the entire structure. It included a redesign of the exterior with new entryways, an elevator and clock tower, storefronts, and details such as railings and decks. They even created courtyards that allowed open seating and gathering areas. The renovation modernized everything, which made it sell for millions of dollars.
This property, which is 28,866 square feet, has even reached the students of La Jolla High.. Sophomore Zakiya Genovese shares, “I heard about the La Plaza, and the inside of the building looked really nice”. Locals around La Jolla loved the renovations, making the sale a topic of conversation.
Since the reconstruction, La Plaza has become more noticeable among locals after being sold for $10.2 million. Sophomore Elise Moreau shares, “It looks really nice”. The sale has brought attention to the building, prompting people to wonder if the family will make any changes to the property.
