We had our first pep rally of this 2025-26 school year on October 3 for the football homecoming game. ASB organizes these events to encourage more students to attend the football game the night before homecoming. The game was against the Christian Patriots. ASB included many games during the pep rally, such as musical chairs, a football players’ tug of war between Seniors and Juniors, and many more. The school’s band, percussion, and ASB team welcomed the students as they came in with glow sticks and roaring drums. The Pep rally began with some of the school’s sports teams running through the gym to show school spirit. The main performance that captured most of the school’s attention was the JV cheerleading squad opening the rally, followed by the Varsity cheerleaders performing their dances in front of the school to boost morale.
Many old and new students had mixed reactions to the pep rally this year. While some thought it didn’t compare to last year, Senior Benjamin Reikes expressed ¨It was more boring than last year. Honestly it was mid.¨ Other students believed it lived up to what they were expecting and exceeded those expectations, having more fun at the pep rally. Sophomore Josiah Meza, who took part in the tug of war against the Seniors, mentioned, “I think it was better than last year’s; the neon theme, the tug of war, and the cheerleaders’ dance were really good!” To some students, the rally is getting better every year, while others suggest some things could be improved. Only time will tell how next year plays out.
