Traylor: the New It Couple?

The new celebrity couple debuts and generates buzz

Taylor Swift, singer and songwriter, and Travis Kelce, tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, are the subject of a new celebrity dating buzz. Claims of their relationship remained spurious until Taylor Swift watched the Chiefs vs. Bears game on September 24… with Travis Kelce’s mom. Photos and videos of Swift celebrating Kelce’s touchdown and Kelce gazing up at her went viral. Since then, these rumors have been confirmed with the couple’s first public debut.

La Jolla High School students each had their own opinions about the relationship. Tysen Boring, a freshman, said, “I think they’re like good together because they match each other.” Aiden Mahoney, a junior, calls the relationship “dope.” Some speculate that the NFL is using Taylor Swift and her fame for profit—which isn’t too far-fetched given that Swift has generated billions of dollars from her Eras Tour. The NFL also seems to be benefiting from the publicity. However, Mahoney states, “I don’t really think so because I mean he’s the one that likes to go to her concerts and he wanted to bring her out to a game. He finally did that, [and] she’s in the stands with his mom.”

Recently, some information regarding Travis Kelce’s supposedly shady past has come to light. Maya Benberry, an ex-girlfriend of Kelce, recently spoke about her former relationship with the famous footballer. She called him a narcissist and a cheater. Regardless, it seems that this pair has drawn in the public eye and created a lot of buzz for the two stars and their respective fanbases.
