With the U.S engaging in combat against Iran, it is hard to ignore the possibility of a larger war. Since the beginning of March, the U.S. has launched strikes against Iranian military targets. This has increased tension between the countries and has raised concerns about what is yet to come. The United States should avoid going to war with Iran and should have initiated it more properly. Other nations are wondering why the U.S. got involved. Was this attack absolutely necessary? What is the resolution?

Iran is a sovereign land with its own sovereign people and government. For the U.S. president to demand approval over who leads Iran raises concerns about respecting that sovereignty. Becoming more involved in this conflict could also lead to questionable information spreading through the media. In addition, more money would be spent on military operations and less and less on education, technology, and schools in the United States, which would directly affect many citizens.
Sophomore Alia Pulli said, “I hope it doesn’t expand to something greater than it already is.”
Another concern is that conflict in the Middle East can quickly spread beyond just a few countries. If tensions continue to rise between the United States, Israel, and Iran, other nations in the region could become involved. For this reason, leaders should think carefully before allowing the situation to turn into a larger war.
