Sink, Swim, or Shoot!

On October 13th, one of the most highly anticipated senior activities for the class of 2024 commenced. Senior Assassin, a game where hundreds of students hunt their fellow classmates with water guns, has given seniors the opportunity to make lasting memories during their last year of high school for several years. This year, the prize for the winner(s) of the game is estimated to be triple the prize for the class of 2023. Evidently, the stakes are high, and several students are determined to be the last man standing.

For those underclassmen unfamiliar with the game, Senior Assassin involves wearing a floatie off school hours to avoid being “killed,” and hunting down those students who don’t. To kill someone, they must be shot with a water gun while not wearing a floatie, and the kill must be recorded. A student is safe at work, on their birthday, at a school event, and during the grace periods of 10 minutes before and after school.

Senior Jay Dee Diresto, who is still in the game [at time of interview], says, “I think it’s pretty sick and overall a really fun game. I love my floatie Thomas; he’s like my little best friend.” Undoubtedly, succeeding in Senior Assassin requires a certain level of responsibility and cautiousness. Senior McCoy J. McInerney, who got out on October 27th, says, “I feel very bad about getting out. I should have paid more attention and been more on top of it.”

Regardless of who wins, Senior Assassin is undeniably one of the most exciting senior activities that will likely continue to be played throughout the entire year. Seniors and underclassmen alike are excited to watch the rest of the game unfold!
