Skye Owens is a junior at La Jolla High and is a first year reporter of the Hi-Tide and will be the editor of the Student Focus section. She got interested in journalism through a friend and wanted to foster her love for writing. This year she hopes to expand her writer’s vocabulary and learn how to write strong argumentative stories through the paper. In her free time, Skye enjoys playing in the school’s lacrosse team and spending lots of time with friends, family, and is heavily involved with her church group. She also enjoys music, drawing, and the beach.  She also hopes to further her communication skills and is especially excited to interview people. She is thrilled to be a staff at the High-Tide for the 2025-2026 school year.
