Oviya Dhinakar, a senior at La Jolla High, is over the moon to join the Journalism class as a first-time reporter! With prior experience contributing essays to her previous school’s daily publication, Oviya decided to become an active member of the school newspaper for her final year. During her junior year, she discovered a passion for writing opinion pieces on topics she cares deeply about and hopes to continue this work in Journalism. Beyond the classroom, Oviya is deeply involved in the arts, practicing traditional Indian dance (bharatanatyam) and regularly visiting local art museums. With her diverse artistic background, Oviya plans to explore La Jolla High’s art and performing arts scene, as well as school district decisions, to share her insights through opinion pieces. She looks forward to making the most of her senior year by sharing new knowledge and connecting with others about topics they are passionate about!
