Matthew Kelly is a senior in his first year as an editor for the Hi-Tide. Kelly, who has always had a passion  joined Journalism a year ago as a staff writer. Encouraged by his experiences with argumentative writing, Kelly is looking forward to managing the Opinions column.

As a reporter Kelly wrote articles for numerous Hi-Tide pages including student life, spotlight, opinions, sports, cartoons, and arts and entertainment. Matt intends to apply this experience to his time as an editor for the Hi-Tide and his future aspirations of studying abroad. 

In Europe, Kelly wants to be submersed in new cultures and ideas, similar to the experience of Journalism class. He is eager to bring all that he has learned from La Jolla High School into his adult life.
