Marie Rebeiz is a staff writer for La Jolla High School’s Hi-Tide. Rebeiz is a freshman and new to journalism. Marie has no professional experience with journalism, but hopes to gain some on the Hi-Tide staff. She was interested in a writing environment to push and expand her knowledge, and the newspaper was the perfect opportunity for her. Rebeiz is excited to report on issues and connect to people in journalism while broadening her skill set.

Outside of school, Marie enjoys playing soccer and hanging out with her friends and family. She plays for Albion SC and will play for the La Jolla High School soccer team. She has always enjoyed writing, whether it was a poem for her mom’s birthday or a creative writing assignment for 7th grade English class. Marie hopes she can incorporate parts of her every-day life into reportable, interesting stories backed with credible information.
