Alice Geurtsen-Shoemate is a freshman at La Jolla High in her first year of reporting for the Hi-Tide Newspaper. She joined journalism in hopes of strengthening her writing skills as well as learning how to conduct an interview. Outside of journalism, Alice has a strong interest in writing, which she plans on harnessing when she’s writing for the paper. She wants to write important and intriguing articles for the Hi-Tide. She is specifically interested in writing articles for the Arts & Entertainment section of the newspaper. In her free time, she enjoys making jewelry, listening to music, and drawing with oil pastels.
