The Homecoming football game on October 3rd against Christian High School ended in a win for the Vikings, with a final score of 41-24. School spirit soared throughout the week, with many students participating in the spirit week led by ASB, followed by the Pep rally on Friday before the game. At the game, students expressed their spirit by wearing black to support the Vikings. Many students had various opinions on the theme for the homecoming game, which differed from last year’s Pink-out theme.
Junior Nicolas Bardar on the Varsity football team said, “I like it more than Pink-out, it matches our jerseys. But I honestly don’t look in the stands during the game, so I don’t really pay attention to the theme.”
Most students agreed that the theme was a good choice. For instance, Freshman Emmet Gutierrez said, “I think the themes that are all one color make it easier on the students to dress up because it’s less complicated.”
The student section saw more people than ever, with many students cheering on the Vikings and showing their support in their all-black outfits. The fireworks during halftime raised excitement for the Homecoming dance the following day. Chick-fil-A also made an appearance, with people taking photos with their mascot and receiving free gift cards. The game was a huge success and a significant boost in school spirit. Let’s Go Vikings!
