Hank Hansen is a multi-talented athlete, excelling in both baseball and football throughout his high school career. He and the Vikings baseball team recently played in the John Baumgarten Classic at Petco Park against the Cavers, winning 3-2. Hansen recorded one triple and two runs batted in during the game. Q: “What sports do you play, and how long have you been playing?”
HH: “I play football and baseball. I played football for the last 4 years and then baseball since I was four.”
Q: “What made you start playing?”
HH: “My brother and dad are big into sports, so I followed their path.”
Q: “What is your favorite part about each sport?”
HH: “With baseball, I like the team aspect, and with football, I like the competitive aspect.”
Q: “Were you excited to play in the John Baumgarten Classic at Petco Park?”
HH: “Yeah, I was super excited; the whole team was looking forward to it, so it was really fun.”
Q: “Are there any players that you admired growing up?”
HH: “Dustin Pedroia because he was a smaller player and fun to watch.”
Q: “What would you consider your biggest athletic achievement?”
HH: “Winning the National Football Foundation Scholar-Leader-Athlete Award.”
Q: “Will you be playing in college, and have you committed anywhere?”
HH: “I plan to play baseball, but I’m not sure where.”
Q: “Do you have any team shoutouts?”
HH: “Ryan Kestler because he is a good team player.”
