In the age long debate about cereal, people seem to have some passionate opinions about which goes in the bowl first: milk or cereal. To those who flake on the most important meal of the day, it is a cereal offense.
Now is the time to end this debate once and for all. Despite its inherent insanity, some people choose to pour milk before all else. Senior Mira Lehman has a special technique for maintaining the crunchiness of her cereal while somehow bringing a sliver of logic to the milk-first team. She takes her morning meal with “two separate bowls- one for milk, and the other for cereal.” She then takes a spoon of milk and pours some cereal on top. This, she claims, is the method to “the perfect bite. It’s the best of both worlds.”
Back within the realm of rye and reason, where cereal comes first, Ms. Daughters kindly provided her process of procuring a bowl of cereal in the morning. Her instructions begin with “donning a ball gown and harvesting your homegrown organic oats. Then, blend up your oats with water and some, unfortunately non-organic Canadian maple syrup. In a bowl, add in your cereal of choice followed by your homemade, organic oat milk.”
The correct way to prepare cereal, however, is perhaps the most controversial. People have described it as, “horrendous” and “a tragedy to society.” Where breakfast novices prefer a crunch to their cereal, cornflake connoisseurs know cereal is a dish best served soggy. Here are the simple steps to making your very own bowl of soggy cereal, perfect for a foggy fall morning:
Put the cereal in your shallow bowl (cereal first is most logical, as established).
Add just enough milk to soak your cereal.
Wait until the perfect soggy consistency (taste-testing is crucial, for science).
Enjoy the soggy cereal! The results are un-bowl-ievable.
