Harlem native Rakim Mayers, better known as A$AP ROCKY, was met by overwhelming and out of control crowds Wednesday, Jan. 30. Rocky made his 13th stop of his tour at The Pechanga Arena which saw lines forming hours before doors were scheduled to open.

The young and anxious crowd filled excitement flooded the arena. The flowing crowd, densely packed together, bumped off one another in a never-ending cycle. As described by LJHS student Jack Wiese, “People around me were passing out and had to be lifted away by security. People at the concert were also very hostile.”

Matching the theme of his third and most recent album Testing, Rocky took the role of a test subject, entertaining the crowd with various instructions. The Injured Generation Tour which was announced in November 2018 featured up and coming artist Comethazine who opened the concert featuring songs off his most recent album Bawskee 2.

Mayers pleased the crowd with a healthy mix of his most recent album Testing and old hits Everyday, Lorde Pretty Flacko, and L$D. Deviating from a set list Mayers posted on Instagram prior to the concert, A$AP Rocky paid homage to fellow A$AP Mob member A$AP Ferg by playing  Plain Jane, a track which pleasantly surprised the crowd. Adding on to the excitement Rocky teased the highly anticipated unreleased song Babushka. As the concert drew on, the crowd wore out, and A$AP Rocky’s collection of bras gradually increased. Undoubtedly, the concert lived up to both Rocky and his fans expectations, aside from a couple of casualties.
