Scott Christopher Preston, a former football coach at University City High School, was arrested on September 11th due to multiple claims that he had sexually assaulted women. Preston, 55, is the owner of a Mira Mesa massage business called 360 Wellness and Consulting. According to SDPD, he was posing as a licensed massage therapist, despite lacking the credentials.
Three women claimed to have been sexually assaulted by him during their massage sessions. They were brought to him by advertisements on Groupon, which provided customers with a 50% off deal for lymphatic drainage massages. As a result of this deal, Preston had a substantial number of customers, which leads detectives to believe that there may be more victims that have not yet come forward. He was reported to SDPD three times between August 2023 and April 2024. He was hired at UCHS in September 2023 as a seasonal coach.
Following his arrests, there have been many concerns regarding his position as a freshman football coach at University City High School. Freshman Delaney Dill said that, “nobody should be hired to work around children if there are any assault accusations against them.”
Others have similar concerns as well. According to UC High Principal Mike Paredes, the employee has been placed on unpaid leave. Despite this, many questions are left unanswered. Freshman Weston Fuller, said, “the school should have done a deep and thorough background check before hiring him because his presence put the students at risk.”
