Tennis Twin Telepathy wins CIF

As spring sports wrap up, CIF season fires up! The LJHS men’s Tennis team rises above the rest, aiming to win the tournament and bring back a trophy. This year, the team has drastically improved in their performances, allowing them to continue participating in matches up to the finals.

Tennis is a sport that focuses on one-on-one or two-on-two matches. And so, for the La Jolla team to win, the single and the doubles players need to win most matches against the other teams. Therefore, the team succeeds if a majority of the members do well.

Within the team, the Senior “Killer Keller” twins remain unbeatable. Using their “twin telepathy,” they synchronize with one another, making each match fun and victorious. Barrett Keller explains how “we know each other’s shots, and it’s just so fun to play with him as a team. We actually once played a pair of twins, and we beat them, but it was so fun because we saw their ‘twin telepathy’ too!” Additionally, Ryan Keller describes how playing with his twin brother is fun and brings the team together, as overall, “a lot of our team is more together this year, and everyone is having a lot more fun than last year.” This joy and love for the sport pushed the LJHS men’s tennis team into being stronger and more united than ever.
