Is Valentine’s Day Outdated?
When viewed the right way, Valentine’s Day is a big day of the year to celebrate with loved ones to show appreciation.
Valentine’s Day, having been around for a long time has become perceived as outworn by others. However, Valentine’s Day is still an enjoyable holiday to spend time with loved ones.
There are many enjoyable aspects of Valentine’s Day, one being to eat fun desserts and give or receive gifts. The holiday can be a time to participate in fun social gatherings; going out for dinner or attending parties could be one of the many examples.
When asked about his thoughts, Tyler Roxworthy, a junior attending La Jolla High School, stated, “No, I don’t think it’s outdated. I think Valentine’s Day is a good holiday to celebrate with your significant other.”
Though the holiday is traditionally known as a romantic holiday when someone enjoys a day to appreciate the person they love, it can also be a great time to spend with friends. It can also be a day to obtain delicious treats that would make someone’s day.
Sophomore Natalie Healey wanted to share her thoughts and opinions, “No, I don’t think Valentine’s Day is outdated. I’ve always loved Valentine’s Day because I enjoy the treats and pretty colors. I have lots of happy memories surrounding the holiday.”
Even though Valentine’s Day cannot be celebrated by some, it can’t be considered a useless holiday. When viewed the right way, Valentine’s Day is a big day of the year to celebrate with loved ones to show appreciation.
