A Smash Hit Season for Girls Tennis
With only one loss throughout the entire season, the JV girls of the tennis team were able to showcase their talent and passion for the sport.
With the fall sports season coming to an end, many teams are reflecting and recapping their own seasons. One perfect example of a successful season coming to an end is the La Jolla High School girls JV tennis team. With only one loss throughout the entire season, the JV girls of the tennis team were able to showcase their talent and passion for the sport.
This especially applies to the freshman of the team, where many of these 9th-grade girls were able to take on the sport and build both their teamwork and their skills in the sport.
One of the team captains, Hope Roxworthy, a current sophomore, comments on the team, “Our team definitely improved so much over the season, especially our wonderful freshmen. Overall I’m very proud of how our team did and I hope we do just as well next year, if not better.”
With their only loss being to the Academy of Our Lady of Peace, the game was extremely close, being a score of 8-10. Better yet, the second time playing the Academy of Our Lady of Peace, they beat the school, winning their league. Many teammates noted this win as the highlight of their season.
Denise Aram shares her excitement for next year’s season, “I’m really excited to carry on playing with this team and this sport.” With such a positive end to the fall season, many of the girls are excited for next year and the wins and success it will bring.
