California is the first state to announce required covid vaccination for all school student grades K-12. In order to attend a public or private school in California students must take immunizations in order to combat the crisis. This will be provided by the recently FDA approved Covid-19 Pfizer-BioTec vaccine. According to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health, studies taken in the residential districts of the United Kingdom have revealed that getting the coronavirus vaccine is 50% or more effective in helping to ward off long-term symptoms, and 60% more effective in reducing hospitalization risk.

Freshman Sarina Nejad said, “It’s important that the students of La Jolla high also know that they can trust it and help save lives.” Another student of the school, freshman Tamils Hernandez said, “Everybody getting the Covid vaccine; I believe it would be a great idea. So many people that gotten sick and sadly passed away. It would be way better if we all get vaccinated so we can go back to our normal lives.” Freshman Ella Milstein continued the conversation saying, “I think it’s good they’re doing that, it’s beneficial and it will help prevent less severe cases of Covid.”
