The Battle of Chicken Sandwiches

It is a good time to be a chicken sandwich in America. Two companies, Popeyes and Chick-fil-a, have been going at it on Twitter over which sandwich is better. There is a lot of social media hype over which one is the best; even other restaurant chains like Wendy’s and Shake Shack have stated their opinions on the controversy between the two restaurants. Given the absurd amount of publicity, numerous other chains like Burger King have tried to compete with new sandwiches of their own.

Junior Ruaida Alkafaji said, “I have tried both of the chicken sandwiches from Chick-fil-a and Popeyes, and I really liked the Popeyes sandwich because I feel it’s more crunchy and has better fried chicken. The chick-fil-a sandwich feels too much like a patty.” Even though Popeyes just recently came out with their crispy chicken sandwich on August 12th, it is slowly taking over the rest of the chicken sandwiches. Although Chick-fil-a has been America’s favorite fast-food chain for some time now, Popeyes is a new frontrunner. Junior Jagger Vrana said, “I’ve had both sandwiches multiple times and they are both very different because the bread and the actual chicken on the Popeyes is so crispy, but the Chick-fil-a sandwich is so constant because every sandwich tastes the same and that’s what makes it so good because you know what you are getting every time. The Popeyes sandwich is either amazing or just alright depending on where you go and how much sauce they apply to the sandwich.”

The best fast-food chicken sandwich is the Chick-fil-a sandwich because it never gets old. Both companies have their points about why their sandwich is the best. Chick-fil-a has always been a great establishment, just do not go looking for any Chick-fil-a sandwiches on Sundays.
