The Boys Beach Volleyball team is off to a great start this season with a handful of wins under their belt. La Jolla High School has an Open Division Beach Volleyball Club team known for its numerous wins in the past few years. Junior Nick Teeple, a varsity player for LJHS, described how hard the team is working to gain a lead, “The team has been doing really well; everyone is putting in the extra hours, which has really paid off. We’ve had a bunch of great games so far and we are currently 5-2.” Teeple said, “We’re looking forward to the upcoming UC game. All of our home games are in Mission Beach, so come and support the team.”

Beach volleyball is one of La Jolla High School’s sports that does not go to CIF, so every game counts towards their division placement. Junior Flynn Dartland expressed the dedication each player has to the team, “It’s a group effort; everyone has to put in a lot of hard work if we want to be successful. We are practicing hard and working hard to make it to the top.” Dartland said, “The team is always looking for more support at the games. Don’t miss out!”
